The Cine Meter application offers a sophisticated suite of tools designed for filmmakers and video production professionals, integrating an RGB waveform monitor and false-color functionality along with a cine-style, shutter-priority reflected light meter. This app is compatible with iPhone, iPod, and iPad devices, enhancing the functionality of your camera.

 The light meter provides readings as decimal values (e.g., f/5.0), which may benefit cameras equipped with EVF iris readouts. Alternatively, it presents values as full stops with fractions (e.g., f/4.0 ⅔), catering to cine lenses with marked iris rings. Users can also calibrate Cine Meter for precise alignment with other meters to a tenth of a stop.

 <li>
 With the waveform monitor, filmmakers can assess light distribution across a scene, evaluating the smoothness and evenness of lighting on greenscreens or backgrounds. This tool allows for quick identification of subtle hotspots and shadows. The RGB mode specifically aids in diagnosing color imbalances, offering a practical approach to ensuring color purity for chroma-keying.

 The false-color feature permits users to set allowable contrast ranges, instantly revealing underexposed shadows and highlights that may be at risk of clipping.

Important Considerations:

<ul>
 <li>Cine Meter is not equipped as a color-temperature meter and therefore does not measure white balance.</li>
 <li>It is not designed to function as a flash meter and cannot measure strobe lighting.</li>
 <li>This application is tailored specifically for cinema and video work, lacking optimization for still photography; it operates on a shutter-priority basis.</li>
</ul>

While Cine Meter provides absolute light meter readings, the picture and waveform monitor represent relative levels:

<ol>
 <li>The output from the picture and waveform monitor does not directly correspond to the exact exposure indicated by the light meter; they demonstrate relative levels within the scene that may differ slightly from the meter's readings.</li>
 <li>Users cannot preset exposure or color temperature in Cine Meter. To evaluate exposures and colors effectively, it is recommended to lock the auto-exposure and auto-white-balance settings against a known reference (such as a gray card). The subsequent picture and waveform monitor will display levels relative to these locked settings.</li>
</ol>
